As the sole survivor of a passenger jet crash, you are stranded in a mysterious forest, fighting for survival against a society of cannibalistic mutants. In this heart-pumping first-person survival horror simulator, you must build, explore, and stay alive at all costs.
The playtime of The Forest can vary depending on your playstyle and how quickly you progress through the game. However, on average, it takes about 15 to 28 hours to complete the main story. If you want to complete all of the side quests and explore every nook and cranny of the game, you can expect to spend up to 55 hours playing.
The game features a living, breathing world, where every tree and plant can be chopped down. Venture underground to explore a vast network of caves and underground lakes. Chop down trees to build a camp or start a fire to keep warm. Scavenge for food to keep hunger at bay. Build a small shelter or a large ocean-side fortress. Set traps and defenses to keep a safe perimeter.
During the day, explore and build, but be prepared to defend your base at night. Craft weapons and tools to help you survive. Bunker down during the evening or bring the fight directly to the enemy. Your foes are a clan of genetic mutant enemies who have their own beliefs, families, and morals, appearing almost human.
To survive, use stealth to evade enemies or engage them directly with crude weapons made from sticks and stones. This game is a test of your wits, strength, and fortitude, as you fight to survive against all odds in a terrifying and unforgiving world.
